Emergency Medicine

The Emergency Department is in the early stages of developing a research program that aims to support and grow research capacity within the team. Current areas of interest include:

  • Reducing low-value care

  • Leveraging technology to enhance patient outcomes

  • Paediatric emergency care

  • Mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) presentations

  • Trauma care

  • Geriatric emergency care, with a focus on mental health

  • Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS)

As the program evolves, the department is committed to fostering a culture of inquiry and collaboration, and welcomes opportunities to partner on research projects aligned with these and other priority areas.
